Sam Winchester is from the TV CW show, Supernatural. I have absolutely no rights to this character. I don't even know Jared Padalecki in person, who plays the role of Sam Winchester. I'm not making any profits in roleplaying as this character, so don't sue. I'm only doing my own interpretation of this character for fun.
Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. In the years after, their father, John, taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it. - from on top of the back of the original Supernatural novels
Born: May 2, 1983
Around at least twenty-two years ago, in Lawrence, Kansas, Sam was only six months old when a yellow eyed demon named Azazel visited his nursery, and dripped blood on him one night. His mother (Mary) intervened soon after that and was pinned to the ceiling, bleeding at the stomach and eventually was killed by a fire that nearly burned the house down.
John Winchester, a former Marine man, told four-year-old Dean Winchester to take his brother and run out of their house as fast as he could. John and his two sons survived that night, but not Mary.
Ever since that night, John had been set on avenging his wife’s death by killing the demon who flat out murdered her. He also made sure to imprint and train his knowledge onto his two sons when they were both boys.
Sam and his dad did not get along so well when he got older, and left him and Dean behind by age eighteen to pursue a career as a lawyer at Stanford University. He and Dean especially had not spoken in quite some time since he left.
Two years later, he had a girlfriend, Jessica Lee Moore. Life was going pretty good for him then, and when Dean shows up to tell him that their father was missing, and that Sam’s help was needed, he wasn’t all for it.
He agreed to help him during around the weekend Dean had found him to search. They hadn’t found John Winchester then, but they had hunted down a ghost woman in a white dress that killed any young man that offered her a ride home.
What Sam hadn’t told anyone was that he had a nightmare about Jessica getting murdered the same way his mom had. He thought of it as just a dream back then. But once the weekend of searching for Dad was coming to a close, the dream had come true. From that terrifying moment on, Sam had vowed himself that he would find the one responsible for killing Jess.
(All mentioned on the “Pilot” episode, first season)
Together, the Winchester brothers went on road trips across America, investigating and getting rid of the evil supernatural phenomena that the average civilian wouldn’t be able to do much of anything about to defend himself or herself.
Along mission after mission, Sam and Dean both found out about his precognitive dreams that manifests as visions, and telekinesis too. Both abilities were usually not under Sam’s control, and he’s seen them as more of a curse than a gift ever since.
By the end of the show’s first season, the brothers find their father who was right behind Azazel. John also had the gun that could kill any evil out there, known as the Colt. They fought some vampires together, then John got abducted by demons and was held hostage. Sam and Dean successfully rescued him, but the family Impala (in which John lent to Dean) collided with a large truck. (That had to be the biggest and deadliest cliffhanger ever in the history of the show.)
By the beginning of the next season, they’re all in a hospital. Dean experienced his first Out-of-Body Experience, and John Winchester had traded both the colt and his own soul to save Dean’s life. Dean was close to going with the Reaper woman he had met when the Reaper’s eyes changed to the color of Azazel’s eyes.
It took John’s death to make Sam realize that the fight to protect mankind against the evil he and Dean had faced before was worth being alive for. He started taking a more active role in the series. Azazel’s intentions for Sam around the time remained unknown.
The brothers meet up with a group of people at a roadhouse who do the same kinds of things they do; Ellen, Jo, and computer genius Ash. They would get calls from Ellen from time to time, or come to her for help. Ellen and Ash’s specialties were tracking down the supernaturally evil.
There’s Gordon too, the vampire slayer who had heard of the Winchesters. ("Bloodlust") Dean and Gordon got along fairly well, until a colony of vampires capture Sam and tell him that they’ve lived their lives drinking the blood of livestock. With some convincing, Dean had chose sides. Gordon wanted to kill the vamps anyway, because he had hated them without any second thoughts to that. Since Dean whooped his ass and left him tied up and unconscious, they’ve been on good terms no longer with Gordon ever since.
They also learn that Sam is immune to mind control (“Simon Says”) and demonic sulfur (“Croatoan”). Then they learn that Azazel wanted to have Sam become evil and use him as well as other gifted people to act like soldiers in an upcoming war. In time, demons capture Sam and placed him in an abandoned town with the other gifted humans somewhere in South Dakota. What was revealed; Sam has demon blood, and his mother knew who the demon was to his surprise.
He was stabbed by a soldier named Jake, and had died in Dean’s arms. Desperate, Dean had gone to the crossroads (first mentioned in episode “Crossroad Blues”) to have Sam brought back, but at a price. Dean had only one year left to live, and then he would die and get sent to hell, where his father had spent time before after he sacrificed himself for Dean. John got out to help Dean and Sam kill Azazel, but it was Dean who shot the demon with a bullet from the Colt. Azazel, before he bit the dust, had left Dean this haunting question: Now that he had brought Sam back, how would he know it would still be one hundred percent Sam?
By season three, the show covers their most recent hunts, from the Seven Deadly Sins in demon forms to Changelings to fairy tales coming to life to Sam’s misfortune of losing a rabbit’s foot to a treasure hunter and thief named Bela. To Dean especially, she’s been a pain in his ass. They encountered her again in the Ghost Ship episode.
Oh yes, and there’s Ruby; the demon who had followed Sam once when he was trying to do research in how to undo Dean’s deal with the crossroads demon. She had offered to help him bring Dean back, in exchange for killing
As season 3 continues (at the mun’s misfortune now that Lost is on at the same freakin’ time), Dean’s time continues to gradually run out, and Azazel’s question about Sam remains a mystery. Although, Dean doesn’t believe it.
Gordon returns too, and since near the end of season two, had been hell bent on killing Sam Winchester, because he was believed by the man to be the anti-Christ. Sam had fought and killed him.
By the end of the third season, Dean's year is up and the demon bitch Lilith sics the hell hounds on him. Dean dies, Lilith tries to go after Sammy, but apparently didn't because some unexpected thing happened. Lilith couldn't kill him.
Before season 4 starts, Ruby saves Sam's life from getting the shit kicked out of him by two demon thugs. Ruby teaches Sam on how to dig into his part demonic side and yank the demons from their hosts in bits of black smoke. And somewhere in there, they have engage in unholy intercourse...
When season 4 premiered, he got saved from the hellfire and found himself in another situation. After he gets himself some food and drink, there's this high pitched sound that makes all glass things break. Also to mention giving poor Dean a headache. When he calls up Bobby (old friend of the Winchester family), Bobby tests to see if Dean's a demon. They talk, hug, reunite, yadda yadda...
Then they go look for Sammy boy! Sam tries to attempt the same thing, but Dean's like "Dude, seriously! Bobby already tried that." Then Sam and Dean start talking and more yadda yadda (forget what they talk about exactly).
Fast forwarding a little--Dean is damn happy to see his '67 Impala, the care the Winchesters ride around in. He's not so happy to see Sam's Ipod, and tosses it in the backseat.
They go see this psychic lady (forget her name d'oh) and she sits with Sammy, Dean, and Bobby holding hands at this occult-ish table with lit candles. She wanted a sneak peek at the mystery guy who got Dean out of hell. Ouch, she got her eyes burned up, and she can't see anymore.
Fast forwarding again...turns out the guy who saved Dean from the hellfire is an angel, called Castiel.
More stuff happens later (Dean goin' back in the past to see his parents as teens, catching Sam using his freaky demon powers, etc), and this interpretation of Sam (along with Dean and Castiel in tow) comes in sometime before they meet the young redhead chick who can hear what the angels are talking about in the heavens.
Most of this information was converted into my own wording from here: http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=Sam_Winchester
Appearance: Sam is about six foot four, with brown hair and lengthy brown hair. He’s twenty-five years of age.
Equipment and Weaponry: chromed Beretta M92F loaded with silver rounds and uses a pistol grip 4-shelled 12 gauge pump shotgun loaded with rock salt
Dell Precision M65 laptop with wireless internet, useful on information during investigations on hunts
Sam also appears to own a Verizon-branded Motorola Q cell phone which has on at least one occasion been used to visually track unseen ghosts. (As seen in "Hollywood Babylon") He also has used this for sure to call Dean for help, or when he finds information on a hunt usually.
Specifics on Sam’s Abilities: Sam’s premonitions usually came to him in dreams, but later on, they got more intense and painful when he was awake. Telekinesis so far had happened once, another young man who had the same thing. Neither can be controlled, and both have caused Sam some intense pain. The pain would happen to be another major factor as to why Sam thinks of his abilities as a curse. But since the death of Azazel, something had happened and put his abilities to an abrupt halt somehow.
He first had definite premonitions when he was asleep, sensing supernatural activity at the Winchesters’ old house.
Sam’s Relationship With Dean: Sam is more sensitive, rational, honest, and has been at first more concerned with living a “normal life” than Dean. (But that doesn’t mean that Dean isn’t sensitive. Sometimes he is, but Sam has lived some of his life as an everyday, average young man. A part of Sam refuses to completely give that up.) In spite of this, Sammy would do anything for his older brother. Sam’s brother is four years older, by the way.
Sam also thrives to drive Dean a little crazy every now and then. Basic examples; making fun of his music taste, his lacking of some modern day culture and technology, and knows all too well that Dean would flirt with any attractive woman on Earth. They’ve also had a prank war once in the first season (“Hell House”). (The second funniest episode ever XD)
Yeah, they both can get childish at times, but they really do care for each other. Dean would go nuts if anything happened to Sam, and it would be the same for the other too. They’re on the road a lot, so they actually have had to live with each other. By now Dean had grown used to having him around for hunting things. Both Dean and Sam are all they have now, since their parents are both no longer living.
